The Official UK George Orwell Brilliant Uncirculated £2 Pack

A brand-new UK £2 coin has been issued to pay tribute to the legendary English novelist, Eric Arthur Blair – famously known as ‘George Orwell’.

From the satirical likes of Animal Farm to the iconic dystopian fiction, Nineteen Eighty-Four, Orwell’s literary contributions have left a lasting impact on cultural and political landscapes.

And today, you can honour 75 years since his passing, with a spectacular Brilliant Uncirculated £2 that features an extremely eye-catching design.

Inspired by Big Brother from Nineteen Eighty-Four, the design has been carefully curated by coin artist Henry Gray to initially appear as an eye, but with closer inspection, is actually a camera lens.

Also on the coin is a unique edge inscription from 1984 which reads 'There was truth and there was untruth'
