100 Years of QEII: UK 2026 Ian Rank-Broadley Portrait BU £5 Pack

2026 marks 100 years since the birth of Queen Elizabeth II. To commemorate this historic centenary, The Royal Mint continues its Portraits of a Queen series – a five-coin collection celebrating the official effigies that appeared on UK coinage throughout Her Late Majesty’s reign.

This fourth release in the series features Ian Rank-Broadley’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, first introduced on UK circulating coins in 1998. Created during a period of renewal in British coinage, Rank-Broadley’s design presents a confident, mature monarch, rendered with strong realism and classical influence.

Now, remastered by Gordon Summers, Chief Engraver at The Royal Mint, the portrait has been carefully refined to preserve its original character while enhancing detail for contemporary collectors.

Struck to Brilliant Uncirculated standard and presented in official Royal Mint packaging, this £5 coin offers an accessible way to own the fourth definitive portrait in the centenary series.
