UK Centenary Celebration: 2026 Raphael Maklouf Portrait Silver Piedfort £5 Coin

* JUST 1,500 WORLDWIDE *

2026 marks 100 years since the birth of Queen Elizabeth II, and The Royal Mint continues its landmark Portraits of a Queen £5 coin series with the third release – featuring Raphael Maklouf’s distinguished effigy of Her Late Majesty.

Introduced in 1985, Maklouf’s portrait offered a more stylised and formal depiction of Queen Elizabeth II, shaped by live sittings granted by the monarch herself. Elegant and instantly recognisable, this design became one of the defining numismatic images of the late twentieth century. Now, more than three decades later, this iconic portrait has been expertly remastered by Gordon Summers, Chief Engraver at The Royal Mint, for this historic centenary edition.

Struck in Sterling Silver to the finest Proof standard, this prestigious Piedfort edition is double the weight and thickness of the standard Silver Proof coin, enhancing the sculpted detail and craftsmanship in every strike.

  • Struck to the highest Proof standard in Sterling Silver
